DISCLAIMER: I DIDN’T WRITE THIS SYNOPSIS. IF I DID, IT MEANS I SPEAK ABOUT MYSELF IN THE THIRD PERSON WHICH WOULD MAKE ME A BIG GIANT TOOL.
In his revolutionary new book, Dave Allred (TheRealBarman) uses his fifteen years of professional bartending and bar management experience to provide you with a powerful step by step, detail by detail blueprint for securing a high-paying bartending job with little or no experience.
Most bartending books on the market are simply a list of drink recipes and bar tools with bland advice on what skills it takes to become a bartender. Dave’s book is inspiring, dynamic and offers powerful techniques for aspiring bartenders, including:
*How to set specific goals that get you a job as quickly as possible
*How to choose the best bars to work at based on your personality
*How to get the owner, manager and bar staff to love you before you ever interview
*How to create a cover letter and resume that outperforms 95% of the competition
*The exact questions you will be asked in the interview – it’s like getting a copy of the test before the exam
*Questions YOU should ask in the interview that will blow the manager away
*The myths of bartending – It’s not as hard as they’d like you to believe
*Interview Do’s and Don’ts – 20 tips that will propel you ahead of the competition
*Comprehensive guide to liquor, beer, wine, glassware, bar tools, techniques and terminology
*100 Most Popular Cocktails Made Today
*The 20 Shots you MUST know to bartend
*All the skills you’ll ever need to become an expert bartender
*Why bartending schools are for suckers!
*Guest service and what real life is like behind the bar
Entertaining, humorous and informative, How to Be a Bartender is a must have for anyone wanting to know what it takes to break into the bar business. Everything in this book identifies exactly what bar managers and owners are looking for that will put you miles ahead of the competition. This is the first time a book has appeared on the market that actually helps people with no experience find a bartending job. If you want a chance at landing a high-paying job as a bartender, read Dave’s book, eliminate the mistakes that prevent people from being hired, and wow bar managers in the interview.
I am completely delighted and happy to say that this book really is awesome! I had only served in restaurants for a couple of years and didn’t think I could get a bartender job without paying my dues. Since the book was cheap, I bought it just for the hell of it and by the time I was 20 pages in I was excited. By the time I finished I was REALLY excited and I made a plan and exactly 23 days after finishing Dave’s book, I got hired as a bartender at a sports bar in Chicago. If you really want to get a bartending job, buy the book. It is sooooo worth it. Thanks, Dave. YOU ROCK!!!

I have to agree with William, the book is a great read and definitly worth the $$$. I just finished it and am heading out to get me a bar tending job. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Thanks for the book Dave and for responding to my emails so quickly. I’m telling you, there is absolutely no other book like this out there (believe me I looked and researched forever). After Dave talked me out of going to bartending school and saving my money, I read his book and followed his instructions and I’m proud to announce that I am officially a bartender. The book is so fun to read. Dave is funny and its obvious he knows what he’s talking about. Thanks again.

Great book. Loved it and I learned a lot. Thanks.
All I can say is WOW! If you really want to become a bartender, do yourself a favor and buy Dave’s book. It’s only $9.99 when he should be selling it for $50. The book is well-written and goes behind the scenes of what it takes to work in a bar. Nothing else like it.
I have never even worked in a restaurant before but I lost my job and decided to see if I could become a bartender. I bought Dave’s book and it was really great. I finished it about a week ago and now I’m going to see if it works.
P.S. I love you blog too. You are hilarious!
Even if you don’t want to become a bartender, I would suggest giving this book a chance. I was led to it by my dad, and I can’t stop reading. I am confident that I’ll get a bartending job after reading this. I have already begun to make my connections. Thanks Dave! You’re one funny dude.
Wow Andrew. I thank you very much for your kind words and flattery. I wish you the best of luck in your search. Please keep me updated on your progress.
Dave
Does the book only come in Kindle form?
Yes, Beau, e-book form only. Sorry. It can be downloaded at Amazon or Barnes & Noble.com.

Hey Dave,
I do not have a nook or kindle, but I am VERY interested in your book. Are those the only options for buying your book? Is there not a paperback version I can get or even a version that I could open on a laptop with adobe? Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Max. I apologize but the book is only offered electronically. Not sure if you can borrow a Kindle or iPad from someone or not. Either way, just remember that you can figure out a way to bartend. Just learn your stuff and be persistent. Good luck.
Dave
You don’t need a kindle or a nook to read it. You can simply download the free kindle app for your computer or smartphone. That’s a great way to read it. I have a kindle but I also occasionally use the app on my Macbook, and iPhone.
